Started out great. Didn't have to get to the track too early. Strolled in at around 9am to Fontana Speedway here in SoCal. Went right up to the front of tech and then started to prep for the runs of the day. As NIZZAN said, I had found a hose that was lose that was going to my Greddy Profec B control box in the engine bay. I tightened it up and gave my all for the first run. 12.775 @ 177.14mph I get the slip and see the 117 traps and I start thinking that the timing lights are off. So my second run, I watched my boost guage to see what it was holding at so much that I did a really piss poor run and got a 12.9 @ 110. Now that seemed more like my usual runs. But it was holding steady at 1.2kg/cm (17.06psi). So that was good. The next run I turned the knob a bit and clicked off a really nice 1.93 60 foot time and ripped thru the gears. My first sub 12.5 run! I was stoked. If my day had to end I'd be happy. Here's the slip.
Next run I started thinking, if it's holding boost now, let's see if we can make some serious boost. Back to the knob I go. I just about turned it all the way to the last tick on the dial, all the while thinking, "what the hell are you doing?" Oh well, I have faith in the race gas. Not to mention, my intercoolers were not getting that warm. I ended up running 1.3-1.35 kg/cm (18.4-19.2psi). Again I got a nice start time and clicked off my best time yet. Arnel, here ya go buddy........
I've never been so thrilled. Of course, now I'm on a mission. Break into the 11's with no ecu, stock turbos and no NOS. I'm going to try and get there with some 15" Volk rims and a set of Micky Thompson ET Streets. Any takers? I think I'm going to head to the dyno next week and see what's making this sucker pull 117mph traps. The rest of my runs were okay. I started missing gears and doing funky stuff, but they were still mid 12's. 12.60 @ 113mph 12.65 @ 117mph 12.64 @ 113mph I'm starting to like this stuff again. C ya Mike
